HCG Diet Adventure – 3 weeks in + UnSeminar 8 + Cool Cars

This is kind of a shotgun blog post- lots to cover, so keep your arms and legs inside the car, both feet on the floor, and let’s go.

1. HCG Diet Adventure- I’ve gone from 271 to 249 in 3 weeks. I’m delighted.

That’s 22 pounds in 21 days.

I’m learning how to eat healthy food. Here’s grilled steak with grilled vegetables.

The steak doesn’t have many calories- I can eat 200 grams (raw) a day. The veggies have virtually no calories. The trick is to not use any oil. I’ve found that grilling them with salt and pepper (sea salt, of course) brings out some amazing flavors.

For the leftovers, comino, garlic and curry powder in a frying pan with no oil- medium-high heat. Delish.

I’ve still got at least 20 pounds to go.

Here’s my take on the diet so far. The HCG keeps me from being hungry. I assume it’s also doing it’s job, which is to make my body live on fat. The “secret” way we’re administering the HCG works. You’re going to be hearing a lot about this.

I’ve read that it takes 28 days to break a habit. That’s the most important task for me. I’ve discovered that I don’t always eat because I’m hungry. I eat because I like to eat. I like to curl up with a bottle of wine (almost 800 calories) and a bag of nuts or chips (infinite calories) while I’m writing. Right now, I’m smoking a cigar- we’ll look at that habit later- which has no calories at all. It helps.

That’s the habit I need to break. That one that makes me want to grab a handful of something munchy every time I walk by the kitchen. The one that makes me want munchies. I’m learning to eat only when I’m hungry- Joe and I call this Mindful Eating, which is also the title of a book by Thich Nhat Hanh which I’ve got but haven’t read yet.

I’ve read several of his other books. I’m sure it’s good. But, I know what we mean when we say it. It has to do with eating slowly, savoring the flavor of each bite, and eating nutritious food that actually feeds our bodies.

Stay tuned- I’ve got at least 20 pounds to go, at which point I intend to give away every item of clothing I own and start over. Burn the ships.

2. UnSeminar8 will be June 18-20. We’re at a cool rock and roll themed hotel in Austin. Free shuttle from the airport, rooms less than $100/night, and they seem to be cool with our unusual needs.

Pat O'Bryan's UnSeminar 8

In some ways, this UnSeminar will be much like the previous seven.

We will focus on actually teaching Internet Marketing. The speakers will be encouraged to hang out with the attendees. I’ve hired a bar for Friday and Saturday nights- in the seminar room- to ensure that the speakers are tempted to hang with us.

There will be music. This hotel really lends itself to music- see the pics. It’s also a little funkier than the hotels we’ve used in the past. I don’t mean “dirty-funky,” I just mean that there’s a little less glitz and more of a jeans and t-shirt vibe to it.

Pat O'Bryan's UnSeminar 8

In some ways, this will be a very different UnSeminar.

There will be fewer speakers. I’ve maintained all along that you can’t really teach anything in 90 minutes. I know it maximizes my income, but… this ain’t all about that. I’ll pick speakers who are experts on their topics, and give them time to actually teach you those topics. There will be hands-on time, question time, and FREE internet access.

Pat O'Bryan's UnSeminar 8

For those who want to go even deeper, there will be “break-out” sessions, with very limited seating. We’ll be selling separate tickets for those, and I recommend you buy yours quickly. They’re going to fill up fast.

I’ve rented a second room next to the big room for those. Those will cost extra, but if you really want to get results, I recommend you take advantage of this opportunity.

Pat O'Bryan's UnSeminar 8

There will be extended MasterMind meetings. We’ve done this at almost every UnSeminar, and those MasterMind groups tend to take on a life of their own. Some have lasted years.

Pat O'Bryan's UnSeminar 8

I’m also working on a “product development Mastermind,” which will be a new feature. I don’t have all the details worked out yet, but my goal is for everybody to participate in creating a product. Video interviews would be easiest. I’ll have a pile of (new) Flip cameras and some video editing equipment there… Stay tuned.

As for the rest- well, we know magic will ensue. It always does.

I don’t take any credit for it. Well, just a little. I make a home for the magic. I run a relaxed event and let things happen. It’s led to a couple of melt-down, but, on balance, it works. The magic knows it’s welcome and just shows up.

If you’re curious about this, just ask anybody who’s ever been to an UnSeminar. It’s life changing. Careers, friendships, partnerships- they’re all formed organically. You can’t predict it, and if you force it, it won’t happen. But, if you just practice wui-wei (action by non-action) it happens.

And yes, attendees will be allowed to speak and sell their products. You’ll have the same financial deal as the “professional” speakers, and you’ll probably get 10 minutes of stage time. Unless you’re a seasoned professional speaker, you’ll be amazed at how long 10 minutes can be.
One other thing- I’m limited the number of people who can attend. Yea, I know. This is gonna cost me money. Like I said above, this ain’t all about that.

I want the people who come to get the ultimate Internet Marketing UnSeminar experience. We can’t work “hands-on” with a big crowd. So, if this feels right to you, don’t wait to get your ticket. I’ve done everything I can to get the price down: cheap hotel rooms, free internet, low ticket price, free shuttle from the airport. UnSeminars always sell out. This one is going to sell out fast.

3. Joe Vitale and I went to a vintage car museum that was way too cool to be in San Marcos, Texas. Then, on the way home, accidentally (?) happened on a Cobra car owners convention. I believe I’ve seen the only GT40 in existence.

Pat O'Bryan's UnSeminar 8

Now, I’m not a car guy. However, there were some serious car guys at the Cobra rally, and the ones I talked to were just breathless about the GT40. They’d heard about it, but never seen one in the field.

Pat O'Bryan's UnSeminar 8

I like a car that goes where I want to go consistently with a reasonable comfort level. However, I did feel some serious car lust walking around the vintage car museum. That big silver one would be mighty ok to drive around the hill country in. I asked what it cost, thinking I might just pick one up.

“Two million dollars, plus restoration.” They told me.

Right. My cars are all paid for. That’s the kind of car guy I am.

Pat O'Bryan's UnSeminar 8

Actually, going to the car museum was just one of those “accidents” that happen when I hang out with Joe. We were actually on the way to pick up a pedal for Joe’s new guitar amp. The amp-guy wasn’t home. His son told us he was at a car rally. That sparked Joe’s interest in cars, so he asked if I wanted to go to the car museum.

Sure. Pretty day. Let’s go look at cars.

Pat O'Bryan's UnSeminar 8

You can see from the pics what a transcendent experience it was. Stunning.

The Cobra pics are under the vintage car pics- the GT40 is at the bottom. It’s worth scrolling.

Pat O'Bryan's UnSeminar 8

On the way home, I swung over to IH 35 to expedite the trip back to San Marcos, and there- at the intersection- in the parking lot of the Embassy Suites, was a herd of Shelby Cobras.

Pat O'Bryan's UnSeminar 8

I’m interested in all things Shelby because he designed his hot-rods in Terlingua. Back in the day, it was totally bereft of adult supervision. I hear alcohol was involved. Plenty of open roads to test fast cars on.

Pat O'Bryan's UnSeminar 8

The problem with Cobras, and most sports cars, is that I’m 6′3″. I look like Scooby-Doo hanging over the windshield. Bugs in my eyes. Knees on my chest.

Pat O'Bryan's UnSeminar 8

They sure are purty, though.

Pat O'Bryan's UnSeminar 8

Enjoy the pics. I’ve got an UnSeminar to design.

  1. pat says:

Mike- we’ll miss you. However, I certainly understand.

David- great idea, I’d love to meet him. Already got a lot of speakers… maybe a jam session?

  2. Congrats on the weight loss, Pat. UnSeminar8 sounds real good. I would love to have Steve Renner come as one of the faculty. He can teach many aspects of IM. But the main reason I’d love to see him there is so you guys could jam together. He plays a wicked blues guitar & sounds just like Stevie Ray Vaughn. And this is in Austin! Listen to him at http://steverenner.net or check him out on Twitter @SteveRenner. Also here on FB. If you have a drummer and a bass player, Stevie Ray Renner can really get the dance floor hoppin’. Or maybe he’d bring his drummer & bass. I’d love to see it. Do you want me to make an introduction?

  3. Mike says:

Great news on the HCG front. Keep it up!
My friend Dr. Kendra Pearsall is a big advocate of HCG through her enlita.com website. No needles!

Also great news on the UNseminar. It’s just a week or two too early for me to attend! If I were to show up before going home to see my wife and family… Well, let’s just say I wouldn’t be able to go home!

But it sounds like you’ve done everything right. The “Fancy” hotels nickel and dime attendees for everything, leaving less to invest with You and the speakers! Free shuttle, free internet makes it an even better deal.

I’m sure that it will be a fantastic event!
